2016/12/05 Grand Re-opening of the Clay Oven Restaurant at our NEW location 1-3131, 27th Street NE T1Y 0B3. Thank you to all our new and loyal customers for being so patient with us while we worked hard to open a bigger and more modern restaurant. All of your words of support and continuous reminders about how much you missed us these past few months since the closure of our original restaurant location only pushed us to work double-time in getting the new place up and running. Best of the Burbs NE Winner: Clay Oven

An almost unanimous choice among our judges and our readers for the best of the great northeast, Clay Oven has been a destination for great Punjabi Indian food since 1997. Long considered to serve the best Indian breads in the city, it also does a busy-busy lunch buffet and a lively evening trade. In addition to the breads, the vegetarian dishes are outstanding — curried chickpeas with onions and flame-roasted, mashed eggplant being just two. Outside of buffet hours, Clay Oven is a peaceful place to dine, where most dishes are well under $20. That’s easy on the wallet, too.
